How did you come to triathlon and what sporting past do you have?
In my youth I successfully took part in MTB cross-country races, MTB marathons and later also in cross-duathlon events. I discovered triathlon around 1998 when I was in Roth to cheer. It wasn’t until many years later, in 2009, that I completed my first sprint distance.
After an operation in 2011, I joined a swimming group, learned to swim properly and started competing in smaller regional events in 2012. Since then, triathlon, whether cross or road triathlon, has been my great passion.
What do you like most about the sport?
The great feeling when you have achieved your personal goals.
Which result are you particularly proud of? / Your greatest achievements?
12th place AG at Cross triathlon ITU World Championships in Denmark
3rd place AG at Aquabike (unfortunately no triathlon due to running injury) ETU EM Walchsee
25th place AG at long distance German Championships at Challenge Roth. It was my first long distance race and I just missed unfortunately completing under 10 hours by 8 minutes.
8th/7th/6th place AG at the German Cross Triathlon Championships (next goal is the top 5)
What do you do besides sport (job, family, ..)?
I work as a project manager in a construction company and also work as a swimming teacher for preschool children.
How do you manage to balance family, work and sport?
My girlfriend and I enjoy triathlons and are very ambitious.
We support each other in our goals. Social contacts and activities, even outside of sport, are very important to us.
